Kate Saraga

Kate is a paediatric occupational therapist specialising in early intervention and assessment for children with neurodevelopmental differences. Kate graduated from Curtin University in 2002 and gained extensive experience in a range of techniques which she uses in her clinical practise. Kate has a holistic and family centred approach and the work she does with every child is individualised to their individual profile and needs.

During her working life Kate has worked abroad and in Australia in a number of different team based and private practice settings with a focus on early intervention and school aged therapy services.

Kate has a particular interest in working with children with neurodevelopmental differences, including autism. She is active in her pursuit of professional developmental opportunities and has undertaken extensive post graduate trainings in sensory processing and integration in relation to occupational therapy and other integrated approaches such as Therapeutic Listening. Kate has completed the professionals certificate in the DIR-FCD model and this model forms the basis of her intervention framework. ABC OT offers a range of services to meet the very individual needs of each and every child. Individual assessment and treatment sessions, home visits, school visits, parent and educator workshops are all part of the service. Kate believes in the value of naturalistic environments and home and school visits are arranged as required. After working in big teams and within multidisciplinary teams Kate is very aware of the importance of working collaboratively and ensures that she works alongside parents, teachers, paediatricians, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, optometrists etc to support children and their families as best she can.

Kate Saraga and her husband have three of their own children. Kate thrives on the chaos, energy, challenges, love and non stop entertainment her kids provide and tries to find time out to recharge by running, surfing( trying to surf) and spending precious time with friends and family.
